Hi,
So I (too) finally have gotten around to post some of my employment searching here--thanks David!
Over the past few years I have generally among many good things and a variety of temp jobs, been taking the time focusing on what different employment I really want to step into next.
I have sort of a wide range of experience, learning, and skills, involving varieties of management and duties, and which over the past 10 years, generally fall under these employment titles:
Mental Health Counselor (primarily with children and adolescents)
Vegetarian/Vegan/Raw Foods Chef, Management, etc
Geophysical Land Survey Crew Chief/Member
I am 35, live in Reno, have a BA primarily focused in international affairs, pol sci, econ, history, law, philosophy, and literature; have been to Burning Man since 1998, volunteered as a ranger, and currently for 3 years have volunteered with the Mental Health Branch of Emergency Services.
I have been focusing of late with some temp jobs, getting more into administrative support positions--would like to learn more in this field and with the right business--though I am still wide open for something different, and am willing to relocate.
One wish: I would like to land some more or less full-time (administrative or support) employment with the Black Rock City LLC, if such a complementary position shall open, ahead.
Will email resume etc upon request.

Re: multi-tasking and accumulating to next niche...
Tue, October 19, 2004 - 7:38 PMThanks, Nathan!
I feel compelled to point out that this tribe is in no way affiliated with Black Rock City, LLC.
Having said that, their offices are in San Francisco, and I think they post job openings on the website. ESD doesn't have any supplementary year-round paid positions, but you're welcome to take more of a leadership role within that organization.
You seem to have done what I'm trying to do. I do EMS part time, I run my own videography business, and I'm trying to get into news camera work. I'd rather find ways to make money that don't involve sitting in an office five days a week.
Good luck!
David

Re: multi-tasking and accumulating to next niche...
Wed, October 20, 2004 - 5:52 PMHey David,
Yes, completely aware that this site has nothing to do with the BRC LLC, and aware that some of the folks (including yourself) here are volunteers and/or supes, etc too within, beside, revolving around or abouts the BRC LLC as a whole or outlying projects.
I haven't (yet) found a place at the BM website which lists employments available--I will from time to time revisit this--I have seen rare job openings listed with the JRS, and heard from someone on playa in the *** office that that is the place to watch for, probably.
Since this is a place of commerce and...., I felt it opportune to let it be known here also that I have a wish to land an employment with the BRC LLC....
Thanks for the welcome to "take more of a leadership role within ESD,"--I believe I am talking to the same David who I talked a little pre event about such a possibility?--I will keep this in view if it shall arise again for next year.
Best,
Nathan
